Account Information: When you sign up, we collect authentication information via your chosen method:
- Google Sign-In: We receive information from Google, such as your name, email address, and profile identifier, as permitted by your Google account settings.

We use this information solely to create and manage your account, authenticate you, and store your preferences and travel information securely so you don't have to re-enter it.
Passport Information: We ask you to select your passport-issuing country from a list. This information is mandatory to use the core features of the App.
Visa Information: You have the option to provide information about visas you currently hold for various countries. Providing this information is optional but helps refine the App's features for you.
Usage Data & Analytics: We automatically collect certain information about how you interact with our App using services like Firebase Analytics. This may include information like your device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, IP address, App features used, time spent in the App, and crash reports. This data is primarily used in an aggregated and anonymized form to understand usage patterns, diagnose problems, and improve the App.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To Provide and Operate the App: To authenticate you, manage your account, and deliver the core functionality of Layovered.
To Personalize Your Experience: To check visa requirements based on your passport and optionally provided visa information.
To Provide Recommendations: To show personalized travel recommendations, including destinations you may be eligible to visit based on your passport and visa information.
Automated Processing: We use automated processes to analyze your passport and visa information against our database to determine country access eligibility. For example, if a visa you provide grants access to a country that your passport alone does not, the App will automatically reflect this enhanced access.
To Improve Our App: To understand how users interact with Layovered, identify areas for improvement, fix bugs, and develop new features using aggregated analytics data.
To Communicate With You: We may use your contact information (email via Google Sign-In, if applicable) to send important account-related notifications or respond to your inquiries.
To Ensure Security and Prevent Fraud: To protect the security and integrity of our App and user data.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers: We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf. These include:
- Cloud Hosting Provider: Your account, passport, and visa information is stored on our secure cloud backend infrastructure.
- Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for backend services, including authentication and analytics. Firebase's use of information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
These providers are obligated to protect your information and are only permitted to use it to provide services to us.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
Business Transfers: If Layovered is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your personal information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We store your information on secure cloud servers. We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include:

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services and fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy.

Please note that some residual data may remain in backups for a limited period before being automatically overwritten or deleted according to our backup schedules. Access and Update: You can access and update your account information, selected passport, and visa information directly within the Layovered App.
Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us.

Object or Restrict Processing: In certain circumstances, you may have the right to object to or request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

Our cloud servers and service providers may be located globally. By using the App, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing.

9. Children's Privacy

The Layovered App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under this age. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from a child without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on our website and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted.
